Application Guidelines

Prepare the information and recommendations needed for a complete scholarship or training-grant application.

These guidelines are retained from the 2026 program.

From the 2026 program

Scholarships and training grants are open only to residents of the United States and its territories.
Applicants may apply for one scholarship or training grant each year and must be within its stated age range when the application is submitted.
Applicants for scuba-certification training grants should have no medical contraindications to scuba diving.
Two recommendations are required from people in the applicant’s community, such as scuba instructors, teachers, employers, or mentors.
- Give each reference the opportunity description and a copy of the completed application.
- Allow enough time and confirm that both recommendations arrive before the deadline.
- Recommendations should be emailed to [email protected] with the subject “Recommendation for (applicant’s name).”
