Exhibitor guide
Common Exhibitor Mistakes
Use this final review to catch avoidable problems before the show. Open any topic for a short explanation.
Choosing Too Little Space for the Planned Exhibit
Match the exhibit, demonstrations, staffing, storage, and expected conversations to the available footprint before committing to a layout.
Packing Before Testing the Setup
Assemble the important display elements, open the media, test the links, and rehearse any demonstration before packing for the show.
Letting Storage or Clutter Take Over
Plan where cartons, personal items, literature, and supplies will go so they do not crowd the exhibit, obstruct access, or spill into the aisle.
Using Literature as a Substitute for Conversation
Printed material can support a relevant discussion, but it should not replace learning what brought the visitor to the exhibit.
Giving Every Visitor the Same Presentation
Begin with an open question and adapt the conversation. A short relevant response is usually more useful than a standard long presentation.
Leaving Visitors Without an Available Host
Plan coverage and breaks so someone remains ready to welcome visitors. Eating, extended phone use, or computer work can make an occupied exhibit feel unattended.
Recording Names Without Useful Context
A name alone may not support meaningful follow-up. Retain the visitor’s interests, questions, timing, permission to follow up, and the next step you discussed.
Making Promises Without Assigning Follow-Up
Record what was promised, who is responsible, and when it should be delivered before the conversation becomes difficult to reconstruct.
Missing Ordering or Shipping Dates
Use show communications for current information and dates, and review the Decorator Kit when it is available.
